Clinical Approach
Hi my name is Reanna. I am currently a Master’s student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Colorado Christian University. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in psychology with a concentration in clinical/counseling from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May of 2022.
I have over 10 years of experience working with children of different backgrounds and settings including clinical and childcare. For 3 years I have been a Registered Behavioral Technician at a clinic providing behavioral therapy to young children through young adults that have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have received training for the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of adults, adolescents, and children with special attention to ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma disorders. My approach with adults and teens combines various counseling techniques with emphasis on those that are client-centered, existential, and positive for the client. For children I utilize evidence-based play therapy techniques and strongly believe in assent-based practices to encourage autonomy of the client. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, encouraging parents of my clients to be engaged with their minor’s therapy, while still honoring the client’s right to privacy. In the counseling room I bring patience, understanding, positivity, and genuineness to each session. My lifelong goal is to empower current and future generations by assisting them in building skills needed for success while supporting them through the different trials they experience.
